– Kurdish regional President Massud Barzani has stated that the hardliners within the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) was as responsible as Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdoğan for dissolving the peace process, while having adressed the recent attacks, clashes and air operations in the region.
Having spoken to Germeny-based Focus Magazine, Mesut Barzani has said that the threat on the peace bid between Turks and Kurds had also links to the hardliners within the outlawed PKK unwilling to declare peace, thus the blame was not only to Turkey’s President Erdoğan.
Barzani has added that the PKK exagaretes its own power and stated the agreement between the USA and Turkey is likely to have significant impacts on the region’s dynamics. The Kurdish leader also urged he fears that the clashes could expand and comprehend Northern Iraq in the future.
