- Turkey's industrial production fell by 2.0 percent in My on monthly basis, limiting the annual increase at 2.4 percet, according to the Industrial Production Index data released by Turkstat on Wednesday.
In the sub sectors of the industry, mining and quarrying production fell by 4.2 percent and manufacturing production fell by 2.3 percent, while electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply production rose by 1.1 percent in May on monthly basis.
According to the main industrial groupings classification, the largest fall was in capital goods by 7.8 percent in May, compared with the previous month.
The largest decrease in the sub sectors of the manufacturing was in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 34.8 percent, followed by manufacture of other transport equipment by 24.7 percent and manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 12.2 percent in May 2015, compared with the previous month.
The highest increase in the sub sectors of the manufacturing was in repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 33.6 percent, it is followed by manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 22.2 percent and manufacture of leather and related products by 5.8 percent in May 2015, compared with the previous month.

Calendar adjusted industrial production rose by 2.4 percent in May on annual basis, when mining and quarrying production fell by 9.9 percent, manufacturing production rose by 3.0 percent and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply production increased by 3.8 percent in May 2015, compared with the same month last year.
