- Migrants of Syrian origin having fled Syria’s domestic turbulence and crossed to Turkey’s southeastern province of Şanlıurfa and its districts, have cued to receive biometric identity cards, chipped and fingerprint-based.
After financial aid system have switched to an online tracking system, identity cards have been prepared for Syrian migrants, open to use for entrance-exit at refugee tent cities, also allowing them to do shopping from markets and receive treatment in health facilities.
In Şanlıurfa town, migrants including women, children, elders, some of them in poor health, flocked to Syrian Guests Coordination Center formed within Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) to receive their new identity cards in the early morning.
