Dollar Marks An Historical Record High Exceeding 2.86 Liras

– The hike of the dollar that has accelerated amid geopolitical risks’ impact and political ambiguity regarding the next government, hit a new historical record high level, on August 17.

Having hit the first high record of the day opened with 2.8493 liras, dollar has passed 2.86 liras. During the day, while dollar hit new high record with 2.8618 liras, euro rose to 3.1728 liras exceeding 3.17 liras, in parallel to the dollar under influence of parity.

Borsa Istanbul Index that has opened this week horizontally, on the other hand, fell under 77,000 level and decreased by 0.93 behind 76,586 points, over security and political concerns.

The hike of dollar also uprises the domestic gold prices, while the prices of the precious metal fall in global markets. While gold prices per ounce decreased to the level of 1,117 dollars in London stock, the price of a gram of golden rose to 102.5 liras in Grand Bazaar, accordingly to the acceleration of dollar.
