Owner Of Stolen Electric Bike Tracks And Finds Suspect Through Social Media

- In Aegean province of Afyonkarahisar, a suspect has stolen resident Murat Çukur’s electric bike, but has not been able to throw the owner off the track.

The Aegean “Sherlock Holmes” spotted that the stealer has put up the electric bike on sale through social media and helped police to capture the suspect.

Murat Çukur, resident of a building complex, has parked his electric bike and found out that the bike has been stolen last week. Having tracked the stealer by watching the security camera recordings, Çukur spotted that a person on a cycler has entered the motorcycle and cycle room of the complex.

After police’s examinations, recordings showed that the suspect has sat on the electric bike to have a smoke break, and has cut the security camera’s wire.

The owner of the bike found out from a friend that his bike was set up on sale by an assailliant through social media. Çukur, checked the ad on social media, and informed the police. While Çukur managed to come together with his bike, the 16-year-old stealer detained by the police was released on conditions of trial without arrest.
