– Air and ground-launched operations marked Tendürek Mountain in northeastern town of Ağrı that has been recently declared “military safety zone” between Aug 2-19 and recently on Sep. 4.
Tendurek Mountain, known as nest of outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants, has been declared provisional military security zone to protect civilians from security operations, under 15 days of ongoing patrols.
While a helicopter keep patrolling on air, ground-launched operations continue in the region. Tanks were placed to the commanding heights across Tendurek Mountain.
The last warning to villagers grassing down their sheeps despite security tension was from an announcement of the Somkaya Village Mosque’s loudspeaker.
