– U.S. Department of Commerce has launched dumping investigation for hot-rolled steel imports from seven countries including Turkey.

Accroding to a fact sheet released via website of the Department of Commerce, damping duty and countervailing duty investigations have been carried out for imports of certain hot-rolled steel flat products from Brazil, Korea, and Turkey, along with Australia, Japan, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

In this regard, the potential unfair subsidization of imports produced in Turkey will be investigated.

Accordingly, alleged damping margents were announced 96.77 percent to 197.41, while the import value of Turkey-based products, subjected to the investigation, was 218.4 million dollars.

The U.S. Department of Commerce has launched an anti-damping tax in August 2014, on steel pipe imports from Turkey, and the custom duty over the round steel pipe products have been increased to 118 percent, upon decision of Commission.

U.S. steel companies had filed a complaint against the extreme rise of imports of steel tubes used in fuel and natural gas industries, in 2013.
