Turks To Flock To Greek Island Of Lesbos Within Muslim Holiday

– As the Muslim holiday of fest of sacrifice approaches, tourism in Turkey’s Aegean town of Ayvalık is expected to show a record high flow headed for Greek islands, Lesbos in particular.

Due to excessive demand, additional ferry trips have been organized, while a high number of reservations have been recorded by passengers to depart from İstanbul and İzmir, seeking to flee the chaotic cities and enjoy island of Lesbos.

The rates of occupancy has also risen to around 80 percent this year, as the holiday has been extended to nine days, told travel agencies.

Tourism agencies expect 10,000 passengers this year

From Ayvalık to Greek island of Lesbos, ferries of Turyol and Jale tourism agencies will be carrying thousands within daily and weekly tours, along with trips for three days and two nights.

The round-trips cost around 30 Euro per person.

According to Jale Tourism Company, the number having reaching 6,000 people in the same holiday period of 2014 is expected to exceed 10,000 visitors.
